Mounting
Flared-Back and Spigot-Back Cylinders (Type 2).

1. Check and clean the backplate.
If burrs are present remove with a fine honing stick.
Make sure the plate is flat.
2. Place the wheel on to the backplate making sure the wheel lies flat on the backplate.

3. Check and clean the clamping ring. The clamping ring may be "solid" or "split".
Place it over the wheel making sure it goes all the way down. In some instances the OD of the wheel may need slight greasing to allow the ring to slide easily.

4. Align the holes in the clamping ring with threaded holes in the backplate.

5. Install a few screws in the threaded holes, turning the clamping ring until the screws fit.
Lightly tighten the screws, proceeding from one screw to one diametrically opposite and then in a criss-cross manner.

6. Gradually tighten the clamping ring until sufficient pressure is applied uniformly around the wheel. A torque wrench should be used and set according to the machine manufacturer's guidelines.
Once complete install the wheel-backplate assembly in to the machine.
